Maryland Chapter
After last year’s Elders Climate Action Day gathering, one of the attendees returned to her retirement apartment complex and started to talk with the other retirees about taking action on climate change. A small group came together and formed the Maryland Chapter last summer. Since then they have worked on a number of projects including: voter registration, training and then reaching out to neighbors and other apartment communities to increase our voter rolls, tabling at the county GreenFest, and working with one of ECA’s partners to protest the funding of pipelines to carry fracked gas, a potent source of harmful greenhouse gasses.
