September National Call – Misinformation, Disinformation & Greenwashing

Dr. Margaret Orr Hoeflich is a recent graduate of George Mason University, where she earned her Ph.D. in Communication, focusing on climate change communication and misinformation debunking and working with Mason’s renowned Center for Climate Change Communication (4C). She is a “research to practice” scholar, always looking for ways that her research can be applied to make a difference in the world of weather and climate communication; and fostering partnerships between researchers and communication practitioners to maximize effective communication. Margaret holds a BS in Meteorology & Climatology (and a minor in French!) from the University of Delaware (2018) and an MS in Geography from the University of Georgia (2020). Outside of her work, Margaret is an ice dancer and a musician, loves being outdoors in any setting from the beach to the mountains, and will always say yes to a smoothie bowl.
