Electrify Now: Create a safer, healthier, electrified home. Link to one of the premier national, non-profit organizations offering solid advice on how to begin and complete the electrification journey. Learn how to begin the electrification planning process: Make a Home Electrification Plan. Up-to-date information also describes how to buy clean electricity, electrify your home, electrify your ride, and electrify everyone. And take the opportunity to learn through their online course: Electrification 101.
The Ask Sean Show: Your Electrification Questions Answered. Register here. Sean Armstrong, Managing Principal of Redwood Energy, is one of the most knowledgeable sources on all things about retrofits of existing homes, and electrification of new buildings. You can take advantage of his knowledge, and remove and replace all that old gas fired equipment by also reading Redwood Energy’s Pocket Guide to All Electric Retrofits of Single Family Homes. The Retrofit Guide provides examples, with photos and descriptions, of just about every available electric appliance and piece of equipment.
Rewiring America’s Personal Electrification Planner: Create a personal electrification planner. Includes detailed rebates and tax credits in 6 states and the District of Colombia: Colorado, District of Colombia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, and Vermont.
Building Decarbonization Coalition: Website of electrification resources and other information, including guidebooks, policies, tools, and videos. Can be filtered by all states. Has links to a detailed discussion of rebates and tax credits for California and Washington.
Resources for Renters: You don’t have to own your home to go electric. This source describes actions renters can take to upgrade your ride, your electricity source, and the stove in your kitchen. Design Guidance: Residential Construction: Resources for homeowners, designers, and contractors. Community Choice Aggregator of clean electrical energy, Peninsula Clean Energy, has prepared these design guidelines that are very helpful and useful, anywhere in the country.
